I am working on a post about the wedding we went to this past weekend (Caroline's first!), but in the meantime, here is a little Caroline for ya :)
I love going in to check on Caroline while she is asleep. I never know where I am going to find her in her crib, but more often than not, her little tush is in the air. Is there anything cuter than a ruffled tush in the air? I think not.
P.S. This darling little angel pulled up for the first time today on a chair in the living room... Did I mention she is only 6 months + 1 week old? Yippee!

Kendra's Wedding
In totally unrelated news, Caroline went to the doctor today for her 6 month well visit. She weighs 14 lbs. 5 oz. and is 27 inches long. Woo!
Well, as usual, I am running about 2 weeks late in life. I've come to accept it as mynew norm. Any whoodle, September has been wedding week for the Broussards. Our first wedding of the month was my dear friend Kendra's.
Kendra was in my pledge class at Gamma Phi at OSU. To say that I don't feel old enough to be this old is an understatement. I still have a hard time believing that we are all old enough to not only live on our own, but to get married and have babies. Kendra was one of my bestest (Yes, I know it is not a real word) friends at OSU. She is quite possibly the most giving and humorous person I know. So, to say that the man in her life had a tall bill to fill is an understatement. However, Gary has met and exceeded every expectation I would have ever had, so I am ridiculously excited for the two of them. And I was SO honored to be able to be part of their big day. Okay, okay. I'll stop being creepy and get to the good stuff... What can I say?! I love my friends!
Steven and I left Friday morning around 9:00 a.m. to head to Dallas. Grandma Daisy and Bump had graciously agreed to come down and stay with our Sweet Caroline while we participated in the wedding activities. We arrived in Dallas around 11:00 a.m. Kendra's Bridesmaid's Luncheon was at St. Ann's Restaurant in downtown Dallas. We sat outside and it was absolutely perfect! Every one was enjoying the much cooler TX temps (by cooler, I mean it was in the 80's).

Me, Tiff, and Emily. Tiff is actually getting hitched this coming weekend, and Emily is newly engaged and set to be married next March!
On Friday evening, we had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. It was so good to see old friends. The funny thing is, it doesn't matter how much time has passed or how little/much we have communicated, we can always pick up where we left off and have a great time. I love that about my friends :)
Rehearsal Dinner. From left to right: Back row: Megan, Kendra (Bride!), Jess, Lori, Jenny, Jerrica; Front row: Tiffany, Emily, Emily, Me
Saturday was the big day. We all met at the church to get our hair did and get beautified. It was so much fun just hanging out and getting ready together. I must say though, the bride was TOTALLY calm, and I was a nervous wreck. I felt like I should have been wiping a butt doing something. I guess the "mom" in me just can't rest.
Emily, Lori, and Jenny, getting prettified!
The beautiful bride, Kendra!
When I got married, a friend passed this cute little zip up sweat shirt down to me. I decided to make it part of tradition and pass it down to my friends on their wedding day. It is perfect for wedding day beautification because it zips down the front and won't mess up the 'do!

Kendra's shoes. Ob.sess.ed. OMG. Not only were they glittery Christian Louboutin, but they were a size 5 1/2 aka adorable. My feet are about twice that size, so yes I am envious because shoes never look that cute on my feet.
All ready to go! Tiff and Em
The wedding was absolutely beautiful. Perfect in every way! The reception was at Union Station downtown Dallas. It was absolutely STUNNING! I wish that I had actually taken pictures of the space and decor, but once again, I only had my point and click camera, so I coudn't get to excited. I'm pretty sure that all of the pics I took were taken in a 10 minute span. I had a lot of dancing to do :)
Friends! Bottom, left to right: Jess, Ang (and Baby Max!), Lori, Natalie (and Baby Matilda!); Second row, left to right: Me, Katherine, Tiffany, Ashley, Jo, Meghan; Top, left to right: Darcy and Emily
So you know the saying "If you want something done right, do it yourself"? Yeah... I finally had the opportunity to get a group pic with the bride, and I gave my camera to one of the boys, and this is what I got:
Oops. Oh well. At least we were all having fun!
Me, Natalie (and Baby Matilda!) Megan, Darcy, Lori, and Julie. Love my Gammi Phi's!
This was the only pic of Steven and I.... I love how Lori is totally camera ready in the background :)
I got my dance on.
Funny story: Chad and Steven actually took public transportion aka "the bus" to the reception. That's right. Chad keeps a roll of quarters in his pocket. These two are banned from hanging out together.
Okay, so I know most of you who read my blog only tune in for Caroline updates. Don't worry. While Mom and Dad were away watching videos of her on their phones having fun, my Sweet Caroline was having some quality Grandma Daisy and Bump time.

Caroline 6 months
Well, I can't believe it, but as of this past Saturday, my Sweet Caroline is 6 months old. Where has time gone? Oh yeah that's right... It has gone into feeding, burping, changing, rocking, bouncing, feeding, laundry, middle-of-the-night wake up calls, burping, changing, feeding, rocking, bouncing.... Ok you get the idea. When I think about it, I feel like time has gone by so fast, and yet at times it seemed to stand still (like around 3:00 a.m.). All I can say is I am doing a little happy dance because Steven and I have not only managed to keep a human alive for 6 months, but she is also thriving. And to be honest, I'm not sure I have even thought about what comes next. In those first few weeks of her life, I just kept telling myself that if I made it to 6 months, then I could do this "mom thing". So now what???
Things just keep getting more and more interesting, but also more fun. I think I love each month more than the last. Caroline is an absolute joy to be around (most of the time). She is so happy, which tells me we must be doing a few things right. Whenever we go to the store or just about any where else, people get so tickled at her because she will smile at pretty much any one, even complete strangers. Steven and I are total suckers for that little smile. It is absolutely impossible to be in a bad mood when you see that sweet little smile.
As I mentioned in my last post, she still doesn't have a tooth yet, but I have a feeling it will be any day. She has had her crabby moments and has been drooling up a storm. She has been chewing on anything and everything.
Even though she doesn't have any teeth, she is doing great with real food. She loves green beans, yellow squash, butternut squash, carrots, and sweet potatoes. One thing that she HATES is peas (and believe me I tried and tried to get her to eat them). The apple didn't fall too far from the tree because I despise peas. We started fruit this past Saturday. I gave her some banana, which she wasn't too crazy about at first. She seems to be coming around and enjoying it now though.
Caroline is such a squirmy worm. She is definitely not a baby you can just sit and rock. No way. Changing her these days is a lot like wrestling a greased pig (I have never actually attempted to wrestle a greased pig, but I imagine it would be a lot like trying to clean and diaper my child). Those long legs and arms are always in constant motion. I just can't wait to put tap shoes on her. Or maybe I can :)
And speaking of always being in motion, as I mentioned in my last post, she is on the move. Big time. I can't take my eye off of her for one second. I can already tell we are going to have lots of bumps and bruises in the coming weeks and months.
Lately, one of her favorite things is "BOO!". I have no idea why, but I just started saying it to her one day and she thought it was the most hysterical thing ever. So now, Steven and I have a game where we will turn our head away from her and then spin around real fast and say "BOO!". She absolutely loses it. For some reason, she also thinks Fred is really funny too, even when he isn't necessarily doing anything too spectacular except slinging water through the entire house. I however don't find that too amusing. I know. I'm narrow minded.

Woo! I'm 6 months old!
"Oh hey weird bird.... I remember you from last month's photo shoot."
And she still can't leave the weird bird alone.
And she still can't leave the weird bird alone.
"Now, let's see what I can do with you."
Cheese!
Annnnnddddd there goes the weird blue bird again....
She is starting to fill out a little, but I'm now convinced that Caroline will never be a rolly-polly baby. She moves around too much. We go to the doctor for her 6 month check-up on Wednesday, so we will see what she is weighing and how long she is. Love those frog legs :)

Lately...
I apologize for slacking in my blogging lately. I know you all have been holding your breath waiting for the next installment in the Broussard saga. Things have gotten interesting around here. I'll give you two guesses as to why... Hint: Starts with a "C" and ends with "aroline". Here is what we have been up to:
On Friday night, we went out to eat dinner with some friends. Caroline has been sitting up really well, and truth be told she probably could have started sitting in a high chair at restaurants before now, but I didn't have a high chair cover yet (I'm not a true germ-o-phob, but I do have limits people). I had ordered one from Amazon, but it was out-of-stock and they said they would send it the minute they got more. I was really trying to hold out for it because I really liked the fabric/design. But I finally gave up on it and we stopped by Target on the way to dinner Friday night to pick a cover up. I'm not wild about the color/design, but it actually might be a better choice because it has the shoulder straps whereas the one from Amazon only has the lap belt. And with my fidgety little nugget, we need all the straps we can get.
We sat down at the table and I got her all situated in her high chair. She loved it! I brought her food and fed her some green beans and sweet potatoes before we ordered. I think she was just so excited to be sitting up at the table, able to see what was going on. However, our server made the mistake of setting the tray with our food on it a little too close to the table and Caroline totally stuck her hand in some one's salad dressing.... Hey, ya win some, ya lose some....
Sorry for the fuzzy phone pics... It was all I had! With the shoulder straps on, it looked like she was wearing a back pack ha ha!
On Saturday, we made a Sam's run. And since we had purchased our high chair/shopping cart cover the night before, Caroline also got to ride in the cart like a big girl.

(Yes, we do have wine in the cart with the baby. It's called stress management.) She was so good and didn't make a peep the entire time we were there. She just looked around and took it all in.
Today (Sunday) was a verrryyyyyyyy rough day. Caroline was just totally cross all day, which is very unusual for her. She has such a great disposition and is normally a very happy baby, but something just wasn't right. I have a feeling that she will be getting tooth soon, and after today, I will be very surprised if it isn't in the next few days. I have felt her gums 100 times, but so far I can't tell that one is close to the surface, but the way she has been drooling and chewing on EVERYTHING, my guess is a tooth will be in our near future. Poor baby!

We just couldn't seem to appease her, so I decided to take her to Target. I needed a few things any way, and she loves to get out of the house. It seemed to help for the time being. Once again, she loved being able to look around. However, I am not used to her being able to get to things at the store, and I learned my lesson when she raked 3 bottles of baby lotion into the floor.
Just enjoying her Target trip. Poor baby, you can tell she didn't feel well just from looking at this picture :(
About half way through our trip, she decided to get comfy. She propped that little foot up there and just had her arm out to the side. It was too funny. She was just looking around, chillin, and chewing on her pacifier here and there.
I have been meaning to blog about her latest trick, but said trick is the main reason for my absence in the blogging world. My Sweet Caroline is now fully mobile. This has been going on for a little over 2 weeks now. That's right, all over the place and into everything at 5 1/2 months. I'm all about having an over-achiever, but this is one area I wish she would just slow down in. She gets on all 4's all the time, but then just decides to army crawl. At first, it was a slow inch-worm move, but now she has figured it out and can get where she wants to go in no time flat. I can NOT turn my back on her if she is in the floor. And, she doesn't want to be any where but the floor now that she has mastered this new skill, which why I can't get anything done now.

I try to keep her on a blanket in the living room, but it is really quite pointless. She makes laps around the living room table in the time it takes me to take a sip of coffee. I've got my work cut out for me with this girl.
I was trying to entice her with the camera lens cap. Yes, I know she is surrounded by toys, but I have found that she is motivated by what she is not supposed to have. Go figure.
I would have to say that Fred is one of Caroline's absolute favorite things. All he has to do is walk by her or shake those big floppy ears and she just cracks up. Some times all he does is look at her and she starts giggling. And of course, the feeling is mutual. Fred can not get enough of her. We have to keep an eye on her because he would literally lick her to death if we let him.
Caroline loves to get down in the floor and play with Fred. She is really interested in his feet for some reason.
I love how Fred is just not even responsive ha ha!
